Greetings from the seaside (no kilts)

Just came home from AA-firing exercise which lasted a week. We were on live firing range at Lohtaja, Finland. Just wanted to show you a great pic I got from there. I put one of the consripts to take the pic because I was working as a safety officer behind the cannon (orange west and helmet). Pretty good pic I think. There is the 23mm AA-cannon model 61 (ZU-23-2). Yes, it is old but still one of the best short range cannons. 34 rounds per second. I sent this because I know theres many military nuts on the forum and I'm pleased because I got a good shot. ;) The red flag means it is OK to fire.

Grear pic! 23mm and 34 per sec - it might be old but can still do some serious damage.

p.s. I don't think "poof" is the word you're looking for.

    artillery...

"Artillery lends dignity to what would otherwise be a vulgar brawl."

Great piccie, Ackwell -- reminds me of some of the photos I have (somewhere) of our Civil War-era artillery piece during firing demonstrations at the battlefield.

    Cheers,

    Todd
