Well I'm sort of 'just starting out' .. so I've asked for pretty much everything ..

Specifically though, a belt, buckle and sgian dubh... and a plaid brooch. Not sure about specifics. Sgian Dubh I was thinking just something nice, but generic, since it's really mostly concealed anyways. Brooch and buckle I was thinking about something with a celtic knot, and then a thistle design for the sporran.

But .. I haven't really found any that I like yet .. and I'm still considering getting one of them in a family crest .. most likely the belt buckle.

I find it hard to ask for kilt-related items unless it's a model-specific item. I hate having to exchange something when I would have chosen a different item myself. Makes me a bear to shop for.

I'd like a nice, well-finished black kilt belt to replace my cheapo with the velcro
    and a dressier brown one.

I neither give nor receive Christmas gifts (for many years I have made a donation to my favourite charity instead, and request friends to do the same), so it would be unfair of me to ask Santa for anything. Naturally, I have a "Would Like" list, but that is not Christmas-connected!!

Well my son has a Gordon kilt on his list. I have an inside track with Santa, and word is he has been a good boy. *grins*

I don't ask for gifts for myself. I make baked goods for my friends and family as presents. I also have a hardfast rule to make sure my kids appreciate what they get for Christmas, Whatever I spend on them, we spend the same amount on a charity and/or family in need.

Guid on ya. My father in law always asks for donations to be made to Heifer Project in his name and we always do it. The rest of his list is always little stuff...socks, candy, a paperback book. I honestly think he gets as much pleasure out of the donation as he does out of the other stuff.

However, with luck there will be 2.3 yards of 16-ounce California Tartan under the tree (likely ordered from Rocky @ USAK) and in the spring I'll have the fun of making a box-pleated kilt out of it.

I'm in the same boat as Canadian_Kilt...just getting started. Basically I'd like more kilts (really like swk and utilikilt), and I definitely need a sporran. I discovered on the first time that I wore my kilt that I had no place to put my wallet, keys, etc.

We haven't exchanged gifts @ Christmas in a long time, we also give to charity instead. But for the past 4 months or so I've been working my butt off on overtime and side-projects... so the wife okayed a few extra purchases when I came home with an extra $2500 one day. She got her dishes, I got a USAK Clark kilt, and we both got a camera to take pictures of our first kid when HE gets here... (okay, I don't know baby Dooley's a he yet, but one can hope, right?)... So I guess that would sort of be our Christmas gifts... I can't see us getting anything else.

However, we normally just do a big family dinner @ Christmas and everyone makes and/or brings their favorite Christmas-style dish... I normally make homemade eggnog.

That being said, my parents have asked me several times to show them the "purse-thingy" that I want to go with my kilt (A Buzz Kidder Inverness in brown), so that might end up under my tree... who knows?

I just want my kilt. Should be here this week or next.
