Royal Air Force Sporran on e-bay

Spotted this on e-bay ending tomorrow:-

Claimed to be a Royal Air Force sporran though seller doesn't seem to say how he can authenticate this.
I won't be bidding as it is a very large sporran as worn by marching bands, and would be a bit of overkill for wearing around the aviation museum!
Ron, or any others on here with RAF connections might be interested.

What doesn't make sense is that if its a RAF sporran from the 1950s then what tartan kilt did they wear it with back then....?

The sporran in question does have an RAF eagle on it, but it would be nice to see his documentation.

Just had a look at the web site of the Pipes & Drums of RAF Halton, and they show some photos from the 1950's of the band wearing the standard RAF uniform, and then later on (1960's?), the band switched to the Douglas tartan:

On the RAF Pipe Band Association's web site, the Grey Douglas tartan is shown -- it was authorized in 1397 by King George VI, yet never adopted officially. It is today worn by the Pipes & Drums of RAF 2622 Sqaudron Band:

I noticed that while the recent photos of 2622 Squadron show a 3 tassle sporran, the photos of Halston prior to 1980 show a two tassle sporran, not unlike the one on EBay (can't make out the sporran badge, though). It would be (and appears to be) genuine horsehair.
I'd like it, but I already have one, and at £68 can't afford two.
