Warning about e-bay sgian
My wife bought me a sgian for Valentine's day from a seller called Scottishitems on flea bay. She is now spitting nails because of what they sent me. Their product page for this can be found here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...tem=7389772002
This thing is of very poor quality. I expected ****, but not this bad. I've had some really nice **** steel in my life. This thing has an injection molded plastic handle for spork's sake! No edge on the blade, the harp decoration was melted on with a propane torch (I can tell, because the finish on the harp has bubbled, like all cheap plate does when subjected to high heat. Sheath is also made out of injection molded plastic. They've updated their page to say that the handle and sheath are plastic, but my question is this: since when is something that is injection molded "hand-made?"
Oh well. Her heart was in the right place, and the upside is that the part that will show out of the top of the hose doesn't look bad. But do beware of that flea bay seller, they sell crap and are proud of it.

I'm sorry but this is the main reason why I dont try to buy no named items off ebay.

I do a fair amount of buying and selling on eBay, and I try to stay far away from sellers with this much negative feedback. Also, the 70 mutual feedback withdrawals!! I wouldn't touch anything from anyone with that type of record. Sorry to hear about your experience and glad to hear that you're making the best of the situation.

I feel bad for your wife. She ran into one of eBay's hucksters. Heck they actually threaten to leave you negative feedback if you leave negative feedback for them. And they do, I checked.
Two rules of eBay your wife didn't follow. One, if it looks to good to be true, it is. Two, actually read the feedback. Although there rating is fairly high if you read the feedback it all follows a pattern that is more than the occasional goof.
Thanks for the heads up on them though, another one to add to the don't buy from list.
Sorry your wife fell for their line, but happy for you that she was thinking about your kilt addiction.

Yes, three times I have complained to sellers to no avail, left negative feedback and then received negative feedback myself in retaliation.

as a suggestion for future purchases...anyone who put quotation marks around features of an item on ebay is probably using the term VERY loosely. "hand made" technically could mean the knife was inserted into the sheath before it was sent out.
just as FYI...

I think this is the same people somebody on here had problems with not too long ago about a cantle on a sporran.

Yeah, I won't buy off e-bay at all. My wife didn't know why I was against e-bay. She sure does now. I wasn't surprised at the quality, to be honest. I checked out their feedback after my wife told me it was coming. That and the fact that the way the charge showed up on our card was "Scottishit"-guess where my brain put a space!

This is the same trader that sold me my cantle, it arrived eventually after lots of email. While its not perfect its acceptable, but they got neutral feedback from me as I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. No feedback from them yet, I'm waiting. When you check their feedback record, late delivery, non-delivery, not answer emails and shoddy goods seems to be fairly common with them. My fault, didn't check the feedback first.
