It is a great look, but in my own worthless opinion, the jacket doesn't quite look right. Needs to be... Darker or something. Not like a black jacket, but darker. The jacket is to bright compared to the hose and the kilt. Something like a faded blue tweed. Darker, but not to dark.
The hat however is perfect, and holds the look together. Infact, the hat is spiffy. I need to find something like that.

I have to disagree with the honorable Dreadbelly
Perfect! Awesome! Fantastic!
Very well dressed and all the colors match...including the jacket
Classy!

It is good to disagree.
I think with ancient colours, once you go past a certain level of brightness it loses balance somehow, but I can't put in to words exactly what or why that is. If it is a highlight colour, like flashes, or accent on a cap, that's different, but if it is a main focal point like a jacket, it seems to, I guess overpower might be a good word, the kilt.
The kilt is stunning, and should be the central focal point. Especially that one. Nothing else should take attention away from it. I hope this makes sense.

I (respectfully) disagree with Dread as well... I think the jacket looks SPOT ON. The only thing I would have done (b/c I like them) is get a matching tweed vest (matching the jacket) and maybe wear a white shirt and white hose... not a fan of the multi brown.
But I AM a fan of colored jackets. Nice one.

Thanks everyone. I have to say. I felt pretty good in this get-up.

I would love to have a matching vest. But, I purchased the jacket from a fellow on Ebay. And, I fear ordering a vest and it "not quite matching." Oh, and I started to go with a white shirt and hose. (There's a picture with this jacket and my Gunn like that in a thread somewhere.) But, if I were going to do that, I'd like to have a different coloured tie. Maybe brown or the faded blue to match my kilt.
