They were the subject of a rather scathing thread (of which I can't find) recently. It was about their selling rather cheap and low quality imported stuff whilst passing it of as authentically scottish made.

Heritage of Scotland is operated by Gold Bros which you can find covered on other threads.
The kilt will not be made in Scotland!
That said, and having used them, mainly ordering stuff on behalf of others, they have proved a reliable internet supplier so you need have no worries on that score.
Personally I wouldn't have a Saltire kilt from any source whatsoever but that's personal preference!

I've ordered a lion rampart kilt pin from them and no problem with the service. Not sure where the pin was made, but it looks great.

Okay, thanks for the help you guys. I still can't figure why I want that kilt. Something just keeps drawing me back to it.

It is facsinating, I think were I Scottish, I'd have one! Having said that, look where you'd displaying a national flag, some Scots would be offended and would have the right to say so.

Good point. It usually isn't in good taste to have a flag in one's groin. Hehe.

In my Kilt Kollection I have the Saltire kilt, which is often admired and which is frequently seen being worn in Scotland especially by football supporters and on stage by great groups such as 'Scocha'. Almost every Highland Outfitter has them on display too.
Whilst I would NEVER buy anything from the Gold Brothers, I see they state on their website: "Your Saltire Tartan Kilt will be made the traditional way, from a full eight yards of the finest pure new wool Saltire Tartan, woven and Made in Scotland to the exclusive patented specification."
Having spoken to a number of retailers about this tartan, I do know that the Saltire tartan is woven in Scotland and only by the mill that created the unique effect across the pleats. In other words, wherever you buy this kilt, the tartan will have been woven in Scotland at one specific mill. In spite of all my feelings about 'Heritage of Scotland' and its owners, I cannot imagine that they'd send this tartan out to Pakistan to be made into kilts! Their price is also pretty much in line with that charged everywhere else.

In this instance I'd be prepared to believe that they are selling the genuine article, and not a cheap import - but I still would go elsewhere if I wanted another one!

I thought that this was the kilt in question and I searched their site to find a kilt with the saltire across the front. I think this is the kilt elitekiltedcommando was referring to.
