New guy here!
Figured I should introduce myself. I'm Sol, I live in northeast georgia, clarkesville to be precise. I don't yet own a kilt as the cost is quite prohibitive right now, I did however see the X kilt manual and that looks like a very feasible project for me. Due to the lack of anything distinctly kilt(-ish?) in my wardrobe I've taken to wearing a sarong around the house and sometimes around town, mostly around the house and to the lake though. Um, that's about it, if you want to know anything else just ask!

from the Scottish Borders.
If you find the cost of a traditional wool kilt prohibitive there are plenty of much cheaper options nowadays in acrylic wool or in lightweight polycotton.
I'm not a sarong wearer myself but certainly David Beckham has set the trend for making the sarong acceptable in the street as menswear, which can be no bad thing, as it is, like the kilt, an unbifurcated men's garment.

Welcome aboard from Snellville Georgia. Might I suggest you look at Stillwater kilts in the standard variety, or for a made to measure, look at usakilts in their casual line
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I've considered going with a tartan traditional kilt but I think I'd rather go with a solid colour contemporary first. Reading the review of the black hemp Rkilt almost makes me want to start hiding my paychecks from the utility companies and landlord.

Ah, then you'll be needing a GREAT KILT so you can wrap up in it when you're asleep on the park bench...
Welcome to the fray!

Welcome to the neighborhood.
Stillwater also has a solid black kilt in the Economy line that is only about $54 delivered.
