P1M,
That seems like a very poor marketing choice. What could be more Scottish than visiting a Whisky distillery in Scotland? Hopefully they have cleaned the place up and have better guides nowdays.
I love all the pictures of the massed pipe bands!
Cheers

Pipe bands and distilleries - that gets my heart going! Thanks for the pictures. When we visited The Glenlivet distillery seven years ago, it flew the Canadian flag because it was owned by Seagrams. The tour guide was from Yorkshire, and you could sure tell.
And by the way, who is that young fella with Em in the picture at The Macallan distillery ?

Back in 1999, I spent a long weekend of Scottish Country Dancing at a large Country House in the Glen of Rothes, and visited Dufftown twice. It is a nice little town - with an excellent kiltmaker on Fife Street: Ann Higgins ( http://www.kiltonline.co.uk ). I did manage a tour of the Glen Grant distillery at Rothes, but no photos were permitted, and all I remember clearly of that visit were the fantastic gardens that surrounded the distillery buildings. They had a very modern set-up there and I believe I was told that the entire distillery was run by only about six men - and a sophisticated computer! The bottling was done somewhere outside Edinburgh. That weekend, eight years ago, was my very first visit to Scotland! Aye, strange but true!
