My (late) St Pat's Day Post

I thought I would go ahead and share a few of my St. Pat's kilted adventures. I went to Finnegan's Pub for the occasion. It's a nice place, kind of dark, has a copper covered bar, piano, dart boards etc...And the best Guinness in town. Was wearing the Davidson kilt with my Flogging Molly t-shirt and as soon as I made it to the bar some guy yells out, "Man I LOVE Flogging Molly!" and we spent about 20 minutes discussing their recent concert. I got similar reactions all night, and even met a few folks who had been at the show last Wednesday that I went too.
I think more people commented on the shirt than on the kilt, though several asked "why a kilt on St. Pat's, aren't they Scottish?" My standard response was "Chicks dig the kilt." That seemed to satisfy them.

I got the question a couple of times, my favorite being some woman that was sitting on the couch with her husband and called me across the room to try and embarrass me by asking, directly, if I was wearing underwear. Smiling, I asked what she was wearing under her clothes, she replied "Underwear" and I said, "Good for you, I hope you're enjoying them." She wasn't going to give up and asked again, getting "Shoes and socks" for the answer. By now the hubby was starting to roll his eyes thinking "Please stop." After that answer she said, "No seriously I really want to know."
    "OK. Are your hands warm?"
She began to spit and sputter like she was offended and her husband burst out laughing, looked at her and said, "You asked for it!" then shook my hand and I left them to sort it out.

Also I was in the little highlanders room taking care of some business and a group of guys walk in. It's a tiny two-hole room, if you know what I mean and they were packing in. One sees me says "Great kilt man!" then yells "They will never take our FRREEEEDOOOOMMMMMMM!" They all started yelling this as I slipped quietly out.

Overall it was a fun night, there were several musicians that showed up-guitars, accordian, fiddle and piano, and began jamming for hours on some good Irish tunes. But sadly I only saw one other kiltie there, and he said he was surprised there weren't more. Maybe by next year I'll have some converts!
