Complaint
Why is it so difficult to find the button to start a NEW thread?
It appears on some pages, but not all, and I can never remember which.
Moan, moan moan!!!
Martin (found it today, so i'm going to use it twice)

It is displayed at the top and bottom of the stack, on each page.
It sounds to me as if you have an issue with displaying images at your end. Some firewalls can be troublesome when it comes to displaying images. I use the same browser and firewall here at the house as I do on the box I use at the shop. When at the shop, one of the ad logos does not appear, but it always appears fine here at the house. <shrug> Just shows to go you, we're still not living in a perfect world.

No, the 'reply' button appears like this, but not the 'new thread' button.

If you are using the portal, it is difficult to start a new thread. If you go directly to the forums page and select the forum the message should go into, the new thread button is at the top and bottom.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

At top of most pages I get the following options:
'Portal - User CP - FAQ/Policies - Members List - Calendar - New Posts - Search - Quick Links - Log Out
No 'forums' button.
On left of some pages, I can find:
'• Home
• Forums
• Calendar
• Kilt Map
• The Pub
• Kilt Articles
• xBay - Auctions
• Links
• Advertising'
The 'forums' button takes me to a *very* long page, but scrolling up or down, no sign of a 'new thread' button.
Normally, I start off with the 'new posts' button to see what has been written since my last visit, a very convenient way to start.
No problem posting a reply when I feel like it, but to start a new thread requires perseverence.
Or perhaps I'm just thick.

No 'forums' button.
If you go to the main forums page and select any forum on that list, you'll find a "new thread" button at the top left of the page that opens with the new forum.

If you are not viewing a forumdisplay page, then you cannot start a new thread. The forum index page shows the forums available, the forumdisplay pages will allow you to start a new thread in a forum and the showthread pages will allow you to post a reply to a thread.
Entering through the portal page will have no effect on any of this.

Not too thick. Took me a while also. I have found, selecting forums from the left hand panel. Scroll through until I find the forum that the thread I want to start belongs. Click on that forum and then on the new thread button.
However, perserverance pays off!

At the bottom of most pages, (but not the portal) there is a drop-down list of forums. scroll to the one you want, click it, and you are at the most recent threads for that forum with a new threads button at the top left above the existing threads.
