Made a doodad for my economy sporran

I am going to a formal event tonight and wanted to jazz up the White Rabbit economy sporran I got from the Celtic Croft, the metal thistle pin was nice, but I felt it needed something a bit extra. I wandered around looking for a pin or brooch and found nothing. I went into Jo-Ann Fabrics and came up with this. A semi-precious stone and embellished it with a fancy button. And finally got a tie tack backing for it. With the power of some super glue, ( I thought it would be better than duct tape) came up with this. Waht do you think?

I think it looks handsome and good on you for making your sporran unique.

One word of caution though, I would be very careful using super glue for jewelry. In my experience it doesn't last very long when used on something that sustains vibration / movement. Two part epoxy is a better bet for securing a pin back.

Super glue is good for show
2 part expoxy is good to go

I totally agree with Panache in his choice of adhesives.

Thanks Doc, looked good with my Irish American Tartan. What a night it was. Kilts have magnets in them, because they do attract attention

Why didn't I see this earlier, I just got back from Jo-Ann's

I stopped by the fabric counter and told the sales lady that I had a strange question. I told her I was making a kilt and was looking for some low wrinkle cotton/poly blend. She said she knew just what I was talking about, she was a physical education teacher and wore kilts instead of shorts. We then talked kilts as we looked for fabric.
