    Kilt Jacket USA domestic

Does anyone know if this particular style of jacket, with vest,

    http://scottishkilts.net/products/sc...waistcoat.html

is available domestically in the U.S.?

I like it very much, but would rather not order overseas unless I have to.

I know it says argyll but it is not exactly the argyll cut in front and has a higher llapel. This is what I actually want.

    Anyone?

Take a look at USA Kilts site. They've just started carrying jackets and vests. They show the gauntlet cuff but maybe they can be gotten without. It's worth asking.

Looks like a combination of a three button sport coat and an argyll. I can't recommend a retailer, although you could probably have sport coat recut by a tailor if you really wanted something.

The one shown on the USAKilts site is a classic argyll cut, and not what I'm after.

I think Graham bought one, and he loved it, as I recall.

I'd just rather keep the funds closer to home since I know there are tailors here who could do it.

I bought one of these from Scottishkilts.net ages ago and also really like mine. Mine did not show up looking like the photo though. It only has the single button and not the 3 buttons on the front as shown.

How much was shipping, duty, etc.?

How long did it take to get to you?

I am going back a few years, but I believe the duty into Canada was about $28. The shipping was calcutated when the order was placed.

Considering that my local shop sells a plain black argyle jacket for $380 (waistcoat is another $175) and the tweed jackets (no waistcoat) starts at $495 cdn, I was very happy with the price I paid and the product and service I got.

The jacket took a few weeks, but mine is not an off the peg size, so it needed to be made than shipped.

To get a better idea of what the jackets apparently look like, check out the pictures on their other site www.tartanweb.com as from what I understand, these are closer to what the jackets look like. They are also having a big jacket sale on there, so make sure there isn't anything your size and specs that isn't just a bit cheaper

Though price is an issue for me, it is not the primary one.

I'm willing to pay for what I want, but only what I want, and not something similar. That is, I'd rather spend my money here in the US if possible, but I don't much like the traditional argyll jacket cut (I'm short) and pretty sure it would not look that good on me.

I do like the jacket and vest combo in the link above, and am hoping to find someone here who can do it.

Otherwise, my money will go overseas.

I believe tartanweb refers to the three button as the "wallace" jacket.

The Jacket you are looking for is a Crail Jacket. If you google it you will come up with a few US retailers that have them.

I think Carolina Celt has them for $350.
