Another kilt movie - or sorts

It dates back to 1973 but I'd never seen The Wicker Man, with Edward Woodward. It's a very weird movie about an island off Scotland where the whole community practice paganism.
If one can cast aside all the nonsense, there are some fine views of Scotland and quite a few men in kilts.

This is one of those films that may not appeal to everyone. Yes, it does have a few strange twists but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Although it didn't score all that well at the box office, the movie guide gives it 4.5 out of 5 stars! I thought the musical scenes were a bit out of place for a movie of this genre, but the end result is still much better than the US remake starring Nicolas Cage.

    IMHO

I agree, Blu, I've not seen the remake, but I can't see Mr.Cage being as believable in the role of a Protestant Scottish Police Officer!

I pretty much agree with what Blu said, not for everyone. Yet the joy of seeing all those Kilts, just so nice.

I didn't know that Christopher Lee was also in Star Wars and Lord of the Rings (of course, much older now). boy, these guys have been acting a long time.

yeah the really good actors are on the screen for a LONG LONG time...
not like now, where you see an actor for a few years, they have a couple of decent movies, then they are never heard from again!
