The tilted Kilt
I was in Phoenix on business this week. a guy suggested we go to The Tilted Kilt for a few beers. Well Well, well. It had nothing to do with kilts, the young lasss whit pour and serve wear teenny wenny plaid skirts etc. Why did i not know what the place looked like before, I have seen mention of such a place in old posts. It is a chain, which means there may be one in the Boston area some day. one can dream cant they? great place for a kilt night. Bring some real kilts in to the place. One of the male employees did have a utilikilt type garment on. But the female staff, great scenery......WOW...

The distaff staff at the Flying Saucer in Memphis wear similar garb. A definite draw, not to mention the hundred-plus beers to choose from.

My first experience with the Tilted Kilt was at the Las Vegas location this past Friday. A few X-Marks members and others got together for an impromptu kilt night. This is a pic that I posted in my Las Vegas thread...

The first 3 weeks that the Tempe,Arizona "The Tilted Kilt" opened we had a kilt night to help them celebrate. There were about 20 of us in kilts. It was an absolutely awesome time. The owner of the bar ended up completely waiving everything we ate and drank, which totaled around $2000. we were completely blow away by his generosity. He continued to take care of us the next couple of weeks as well. I was thinking that this place was the most awesome place in the entire world.
Then one day after work i went by for a pint, and the owner started yelling at me saying "If I don't start seeing your friends in here on a regular basis, you can get the hell out of my bar and never come back." I was completely suprised. He had been nothing but absolutely cool with me up until this moment. We never asked him to spend all that money on us, but he was trying to make us feel extremely guilty about not spending 5-7 days a week at his pub.
I'm not trying to disuade anyone from going to the Tilted Kilt, I just wanted to send a warning out there, that if the owner starts buying you drinks, be ready for his wraith if he doesn't see you on a regular basis.

Thanks for the heads up Ayin, Interesting. I believe i was in the Tempe location. Buisness being buisness i understand his thought process. You or your kilted brethren in no way owe him anything....the hook up was all his gamble if you will. Too bad.
Thanks for the heads up.

Ayin, have you gone to the Tilted Kilt in North Snotsdale, I mean, Scottsdale?
I definitely prefer it to the one in Tempe (& not just because it's closer). I think the layout, decor & atmosphere is more interesting & pub-like, & I'd even say the staff seem friendlier. Between my red-hair & kilt, I'm immediately recognized by the staff whenever I visit & get a very warm welcome.
Maybe we should have a Zonie Kilt Night there?
Happiness? I'd settle for being less annoyed!!!
