Opening for THE TOSSERS
Yeah, that's right. The Tossers. Chicago's Irish punk band. My pipe band will be opening for them this Friday in Rockford, IL. Man, I'm so psyched.
So if you can, come out to the show. I'll be the one in the MacAlpine kilt...on stage

Wish I could be there to listen. Maybe I'll tell my son. He's a freshman at NU and had his own Celtic punk band in HS called Shillelagh Law. Did a number of gigs, cut a CD, and broke up when they graduated. They had a piper, fiddler, base fiddler, 2 guitars, drums, bodhran, squeezebox.

So WHEN is the Western Tour of the Canyonlands? Paria Outpost, Page Cultural Arts Building, Lonely Dell, North Rim?
Bet the music would sound extra cool played from a raft floating down the Colorado River through Glen Canyon....
Summer's coming...

So I went down the hall to Adam's room. He freaked out too. What a small world. Is your son James, the singer?

Congrats on opening for the Tossers... if it weren't for the 10 hour drive between us, I would come to the show!
SL was a good band as well! We have LOTS of mini celebreties up here!

Yes, he sings and plays bodhran. He is an inactive member of XMTS under the name seamus. It'd be great if he started up again, but he's heavy into school (Performing Arts at Northwestern). So I guess you have one of their CD's? James wrote the song "Pirates of Michigan Lake". His younger sibs love it.
We'll definitely have to get together this summer in Galena.

Thats great that you are opening for them, and really cool connection between you and Turpin, it really is a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it. Have a good show, let us know how it goes post pictures etc.
