    Tie with Prince Charlie

    Hi,

I have seen pictures of people wearing a tie with the Prince Charlie coat and low 3 button vest instead of the bow tie. I'm considering this for my wedding, and I was wondering if this is appropriate with the standard 3 button vest or if there is a special low cut vest that makes the wearing of the tie/ruche approrpriate. Thanks!

I've never seen a PC worn like this, or with this type of vest. Sure it wasn't an Argyll jacket? IMO, the PC only works with the bowtie and the PC vest...

Bow tie and PC vest are the way to go for a wedding.

The main picture is an Argyle jacket, hence he is wearing a 5 button waistcoat

These are PC's most have 3 button waistcoats, one is a 5 button, or Argyle waistcoat, and the green one is an Argyle.

You could go for an Argyle if you want the 5 button waistcoat, and cravat.

BTW - I got my tank from them. Ken Macdonald provides outstanding service if you are looking to buy your outfit from him.

It is your wedding too but don't wear the long tie. It is just wrong looking.

Bow Tie is the only way to go.

I have a couple of scrunchie cravats and they go great with a PC providing you have a wing collar shirt
