Woad!
Or something like it. I have a little project this summer that requires me painting myself blue. I'd rather not use woad, as I've heard it stays on the skin for a long time, so does anyone know of a more temporary replacement to woad skin dye?

Besides the longevity, I've heard that woad is an hallucinogen that is absorbed via the skin. Therefore, its use before battle (to stimulate the berserker rage that made those crazy celts just so crazy). I'd stick with something a little less "stimulating", such as some sort of stage makeup.
Be well,

You heard wrong.
Woad is in no way psychoactive.

You can get blue bodypaint from most arts and crafts kinda stores as well as fancy dess strores.
Woad is not only a hallucinogen, but 'proper' woad used to paint the body doesn't work very well unles you use a 'proper' binding agent. And that tends to be either urine or semen.
Id suggest going to your local art store and seeing what paints and ody pencils they have.
Good luck.

This gentleman does it all the time in the Lawnmarket in Edinburgh - might be a good idea to ask him!
