    Talking What's next? An NBA tartan?

    The Houston Rockets' Tracy McGrady was seen wearing a kilt at the Highland Games in Scotland, throwing sheep no less, on a Vitamin Water commercial on ESPN. My husband, being a huge McGrady fan, spewed soda all over the TV and ran to get his kilt! Now, he has more incentive to wear it out in public, afterall, his hero wore the kilt in front of millions.

    That was a funny ad, although if you did throw a sheep like that you'd probably hurt yourself . . .

    ;-)}

    for those that haven't seen . . . sheep-toss

    Thanks for the link. Some of my less-informed high school students have been giving me grief about the kilt (good-humored ridicule). They remember that I wore one to the prom last year and this year's prom is Saturday). They had already seen this video on TV and had forgotten that one of their "heroes" was kilted. This launched a very productive discussion about cultural sensitivity and diversity....good stuff. And they promised to can the comments.
    Thanks again.

    Back in 1987, I went to my girlfriend's senior prom with her... she was a year behind me, I had already graduated from the same school... I wore a kilt done up brown, with PC and fly plaid and ever'thin'. She wore a nicely tailored lady's tuxedo.

    Our vice-principle dragged us off the dance floor, and told us that we were making a mockery of a fine old institution, and told me that I was the most arrogant SOB he'd ever met. It made me glad he no longer had the power to give me detention.
