Kilted fishing
I decided to try and get a little fishing in this morning while the weather was good and I had some free time.
I almost always fish in my kilt. It's just easier and far more comfortable. I know there are one or two guys who fish the same river as I do and regularly wear a kilt while fishing.
Well, I rarely take a camera with me because I'd only drop it in the water, but while I was fishing a very intersted gentleman from Oregon and his slightly less interested wife happened by.
He was fascinated by the idea of fishing in a kilt and decided he was going to try it as soon as he got back home. So I directed him to a few of the kiltmakers on here and to Xmarks itself.
He asked if he could take a few pictures and said he'd email them to me.
Imagine how suprised I was to get home and find that they were already in my email.
So here you go, kilted fishing on the Whitecart water.
And, just to add, a photograph from my Facebook that I hadn't posted here, yet.
Kilted firebreathing.

10" 3 1/2lbs native brown trout. And it put up an admirable fight.

That looks like a lot of fun, how bad did your kilt get wet, I saw the 2nd picture and looked like it was getting pretty wet.

The bottom inch or so did get pretty wet, but it's a pure wool kilt so it dries pretty easily without any shrinkage. I usually just have to press it afterwards.
It was fun, and a good day.

Awesome pics. Do you fire breathe often? I have always wanted to do that, though I'm not sure the wife would approve.

I do firebreathing fairly regularly.
It was a bit of a joke that, in high school, there were too many drummers to go around. Since I couldn't be 'In a band' someone suggested I take up firebreathing to impress girls.
So I went to the library and got a few books and have been doing it ever since.
I also do Poi, but I don't find it quite as powerful an experience.
My fiance always thought I was a bit crazy until she actually saw flames exlploding from my face. Then she was converted and quite liked that I did it.

Arlen, What I want to know is how often you get nibbled in your kilt while fishing? Watch out for the turtles

Honestly, I've never had any nibbles, but I did get a leech stuck to my leg once. It didn't really hurt and I knew enough to just let it drop off when it was ready, but it sure was a shock.
