I did something similar for my prom..( has it really been 13 years?!?)

wore a kilt that is....

my GF at the time and I dressed up Ren style, I wore a great kilt, and she wore a ren style dress, got lots o compliments on it!

you two looked great! did you have any problems at school?

You make a great looking couple. One comment - I'm not sure a balmoral is appropriate with a saffron kilt. The hat is Scots, the kilt Irish.

Yes, I own the whole schmeer. As for the hat, it's the only one I've got, else I would have worn a caubeen.
Also, we didn't have any problem with the school (we're the GLendora Tartans, and have a pipe band).
