    Students Summer Ball 2

Here's a few pics from the Students Summer Ball. I opted to wear my Blue McKay after... could'nt find a suitable shade of red tie to go with my other Cilt.
This is just after we arrived. We went really early so as we could get back to our folk club later.

There were four huge marquees put up in the Castle grounds. One had a disco for those who wanted to go 'clubbing'. The other was for Acoustic music. The other an Alternative music venue and the last one .. the main 'live' tent where they had several well known bands and artistes performing. There were also several Bars and Food tents.
A pic from the Alternative music tent. It was still quite early but the students were starting to flood in. By the end of the night there would be about 25000 students.

They even had an area with Dodgems. The queue was a mile long to go on these.

At the main entrance, the students had formed a jazz band and were performing to greet everyone on arrival. The conducter by the way was in a Cilt. He had gone to the back in this pic to play an instrument.

It was 9pm when we were leaving and most of the students had yet to come. The ball was on until 2am .. on our way to the bus stop, they were starting to appear in droves.

Back at the folk club .. Trefor (Mclef) and me at the end of the evening when everything was being put away.

Thats all the pics I took.

Always glad to see your picture-postings, Derek
That must have been quite a party - and I bet you were glad the next morning that you left early...

Great pictures and a nicely pulled together outfit, the McKay compliments what Elaine was wearing better than the other would, looks like a good night.

Super pics, Derek, looks like a fun evening.
The blue McKay goes well with Elaine's outfit.

That is just not fair Derek... You seem to find the best places to be kilted. Thanks for the pictures, though!

Oh, what a wise decision, Derek! You really had me worried a few days ago . As it was, it all worked well and I am SO glad you both had an enjoyable time at the Ball. That and the Rumney Folk Club in one evening ..... who could ask for more?!
