    Embro Games

    So we went to the Embro Games. It was quite a bigger event than the last time I had gone. Years ago it was in the town but now it's on the fairgrounds. Major points for free parking.
    It was a perfect day for kilts. Slight wind, good mix of cloud to prevent burn and heat. Several gliders were in the sky overhead.
    This is a one day event but it has a good reputation as a tug of war event.
    There were lots of vendors with quite a price range. You could pay double for your goods at one end compared to the middle.
    Clan tents were in abundance. Most people were very friendly but the tartan police were present. One clan rep, it's just as well I can't remember which one, took umbrage that I was wearing a web belt but hadn't served in the armed forces. He had, and dismissed that I had worked as a civilian. Oh well, not really important that that section was the bomb disposal and armoury for Canada, and I worked with vets who had been wounded and POWs. I'm proud of it.
    Another table, at the Ross tent, asked my wife and her sister if they were part of the Ross clan. "That's a shame", she said when they said no. I can only hope that was her strange sense of humour.
    BTW, for those of you in tents, sitting behind tables, remember your posture. One gentleman was leaning back, digging into a burger and answering "the question" to all. In his case, it was bright whiteys.
    But it was a good day, despite them. Guess which clan I'm from.

    Here's some pics;

    I liked the spotter's pose here, it looks like a dance step. This guy had great focus.

    The massed bands were in fine form.

    I liked the way this little person was focused on staying in step and keeping up. Did a pretty good job of it.

    Rob of R-Kilts had a busy day. Don't you hate it when you photo two friends and one does the "bunny ears" to the other. By they way, that black shirt is really nice. It's made of hemp and I've got one on order since all the non he-man sizes had been sold.

    Nice pics, and looks like you even got a dry day for your games. Thanks for posting.
