kilt pin with kilt

Just curious: I will be ordering the MacDonald of Clan Ranald tartan in the near future. The motto from the Macdonald of Clan Ranald is " My hope is constant in thee" rather than the "per mare per terras" from clan macdonald. Is it okay to use the clan macdonald kilt pin with a the MacDonald of Clan Ranald kilt, or should you have the macdonald of clan ranald kilt with the macdonald of clan ranald kilt pin, or does it matter. I know that the two kilt pins look entirely different.

Any input is appreciated

I have worn a Graham of Mantieth kilt pin on a Gunn Kilt, I wouldn't worry about it at all wear it if you want or if it is the kilt pin you have at the moment.
