Kilts on a Cruise!
I just found out that I was of Scottish descent about a month before our cruise. As luck would have it my friend on the cruise also just decovered his Scottish roots. So I thought it appropriate to wear kilts for the formal nights on the cruise. To try it out we rented first. To say our wives were not excited by this is an understatement.
As soon as they got one look at us in full formal, prince charlie jackets and tux shirts, they were sold also.
We had so much fun! From cat calls from a table of girls at dinner to 70yr old ladies asking what we had under them we had great fun.
I was then hooked. I now own 3 kilts, one formal & two casual, the prince charlie jacket and vest and 3 sporrans.
We can't wait until our next cruise.......

We enjoy going cruises and I have done so for many years. Cruising is a great place to wear a kilt especially on Carribean cruises with lots of americans on board.
But there is just one problem as Andy Warhol said everybody should be famous for fifteen minutes at least in their lifetime, when wearing a kilt on a cruise you seem to be famous from the first formal night until you leave the ship
I suspect one of the many reasons that we wear a kilt is because of the attention it attracts, I am certainly no wallflower but I have to admit I love the attention that you get when wearing a kilt, even the comedian on board ship interupted his show when we walked in.
So at times we find ourselves finding some secluded place on the ship where we can stay out of the public eye and enjoy some relaxation.
I would urge all kilt-wearers to go on a cruise and enjoy the attention and flattery that the kilt brings, we all can do with an ego boost at some time in our lives
