    Round Valley Golf

Yesterday Marilyn and I went for a quick 9 holes. I was wearing my new SWK MacLaren Tartan Thrifty-Kilt. I have been breaking it in all week. While on the golf course two diferent golf carts swung by and both players got out and shook my hand for wearing a kilt while playing. One of the ground keepers/caddies said I was the first kilt wearer he had seen on the course? There was an older couple who wanted to know about wearing a kilt playing golf and I told them that it was not a 8yard wool kilt but a SWK thrift kilt and it was very cool to play in. She told her husband he should look into getting one.

Just have to remember to bend the knees when placing the ball on the tee. Marilyn Said " I can see all your ba s"
    Sorry no Pictures PLEASE

Reminds me of the old joke about the trousered fellow who fulfilled a lifelong dream and went to Scotland. One day, out on the links at St. Andrews, he saw some gents playing golf in their kilts. He tossed a golf ball from hand to hand and asked his guide how the Scots played golf in the winter, when it was snowing.

"Aye, they play with red balls in the winter."

"I'll just bet they do," replied the trousered gent.

I have my once a year outing coming up. Looks to be hot again. What do you guys do for head gear when golfing kilted. I have to think a ball cap would look out of place and a will balmoral would be hot & offer no shade.

I have used the Australian Bush hat with a lot of success with the Kilt.

"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

These are great for the sun and (IMHO) go very well with the kilt.

Their website will tell you where you can buy one. I got mine at the local LL Bean.

I'll echo the general fondness for the Tilley hats. Absolute, first rate quality gear. And a secret compartment! Be sure and read about the elephant handler's story.
