    Kilt Pin Length

I'm in the process of designing up some really manly kilt pins, as I'm a jeweler, but I wanted to make them 6 inches long. Would that be too far over board ? Just wondering what the lads have ta sae.

I would think that 6" would be a wee bit too much, depending on the pin of course, some designs just might work at that size, the largest kilt pin I have is my Maple Leaf pin it's about 4" x 3".
I think it works fine but you do have to be careful I think when making a kilt pin that size.

When I'm considering pins to use as kilt pins, I generally look for things that are 2-4" in length.

What would a really MANLY pin look like, one wonders? A beer can? A pair of breasts?

    Whats really Manly

If I could figure out how ta post pictures in this thing I would show you my drawings. Anyway my idea of manly is large, bold and accurate, high sculpted 3-D as possible-- swords with thistle themes or basket hilted claymores with a targe on the front

That's pretty cool, actually. You can refer to the X-Marks FAQ for instructions.

I really like the top one, with the entwined thistle. Very pretty.

Very nice looking pin idea, I would like to see it when its done, and would be interested in purchasing one when it complete, I am pretty sure the members of the board as a whole would no even think about stealing your idea, I found this group to be genuinely honest and gentlemanly.

Ah there that did it ! Well if 6 inches is wee too long, could I get away with 5 to 5 1/2 inches ?
