Needing a Loan of an Olive Drab Kilt
Mods please feel free to move this if I posted incorrectly.
I participate in the Breast Cancer 3-Day benefiting Susan G. Komen for a Cure. It's a 3-day 60 mile walk raising money and awareness for Breast Cancer. I'm NOT soliciting for the event. I'm a part of the 400 person all volunteer crew. On event, I've earned the nickname "Kilt Guy" for obvious reasons. This years Dallas/Fort Worth event is October 27-29th.
My role on event is driving a 15 person passenger van with a partner up and down the route to pick up or help walkers who are needing a break, or cannot continue walking for whatever reason.
We're one of 7 "Sweep" vans on event. Each van has a different theme. Last year we were Superheroes. We dressed up, and the entire van is decorated. Other themes last year were the "Bra Mobile", "Candy Van", "Disco Fever", "The 60's", and "Hula Hula Mobile". It's loads of fun, and lots of hard work.
This year our van's theme is the "Boob Tube" celebrating classic TV shows. The walk in Dallas starts at Southfork Ranch. Famous as the Ewing Household for TV's Dallas. So for Day 1 I'll be dressing as J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) in a kilt. Dove Gray sport coat, dress shirt, big ol sparkly "JR" bolo, monster Texas sized Belt buckle, big aviator sunglasses, Kilt (unsure of color yet), Dove Gray Cowboy hat, and cowboy boots.
My van partner will dressed as Sue Ellen Ewing.
Day 2 we'll be celebrating M*A*S*H. I'll be Hawkeye Pierce (Alan Alda) in a kilt. This is where I need help. My outfit consists of an Olive Drab MASH T-Shirt, straw cowboy hat, red velvet robe, army boots, martini glass, and an olive drab kilt. Only problem is I don't have an olive drab kilt. I was hoping to borrow one for the event. Seeing as this is the largest contingent of Kilted Gentleman & Ladies, what better place to ask. Preferably an Olive Drab UK, but any kilt would do. I'm a 38-39 waist for a UK, 42 for a regular size kilt. Anyone out there that can help? I'll pay shipping if needed.
My partner will be dressed as Hot Lips Major Margaret Hoollihan.
Day 3 we'll be celebrating Gilligan. I'll be Gilligan in kilt, with my partner being Mary Ann.
We have a ball being mobile cheerleaders and motivating people along the way. If you can help, please PM me. Thanks to All!

Will you even be able to see the kilt under the robe? I'd just tie the robe and wear shorts underneath... easy enough. Or you could buy some cheap-o fabric from Wally world or somewhere and have a go at an X-Kilt. Im' sure you could get fabric for less than two way shipping of a loaner kilt would cost. And, if the X-Kilt didn't pan out to be the greatest creation ever: what's the harm? Can't really see it in your costume anyway. Sounds like you've got plenty of time too.

How dare you mention any form of bi-fubricated garment, even shorts to take the place of a kilt. *gasp*
And robe is relatively short. Think hugh hefner style only all red. And more than likely it will be way too warm to wear the robe all the time.

I may have just what you need. Please send me your hip and drop measurments.
There are a couple of Olive Drab Cargo Model Kilts with Cargo Pockets hanging in my shop that would suit the rest of the outfit perfectly.
I'll split the shipping with you.
The Pink Death fabric some of you may have seen may make an appearance in this years March in Victoria.

If what Steve has doesn't work out, I have a khaki / olive canvass Buzz Kidder 36 X 22 that I would be willing to loan out for such a fine endeavour. PM if you might need it.

If we can find someone in closer to Dallas it would save some shipping costs.

I have a olive drab UK original and I am 38. If you want to cover shipping I would be happy to lend it to you. My girl did the walk 2 years ago. A great event. Let me know if you would like to use mine.

My OD Uk is a little large unfortunately... it's a 41 and it's the short length (21.5" I think), but it's local...

What a great cause!
I think pictures are definitely required! Not just of Sue Ellen, Hot Lips and MaryAnn but also of the kilts!
