First Online Kilt Bought... Now I wait...
So I finally did it. I purchased my first online kilt. I already own 3 kilts, but one was a gift and it took about a month or so to get to me once i knew it was coming, one was bought at a local shop, and one i made. So this will be the first time that i've ever ordered a kilt myself and then had to wait. I read the threads all the time about people anticipating the arrival of their new kilt, so we'll see. I hear that SWK usually delivers REALLY FAST.
I only bought a thrifty kilt from SWK so it's not like i just invested 300+ dollars in a tank and I'm awaiting my soul mate to show up. But there is still some good anticipation knowing that another one is on the way. I was going to order two, but I thought that i'd wait to see how i like SWK's kilts first before investing more money. I normally hear nothing but good things, but everyone has their own opinions, so i thought i'd see for myself.
I ordered the Thrifty Buchanan Tartan, for several reasons. I am not a Buchanan and I don't have any affiliation with the clan either. I do really like loud kilts, and I know that once i say that everyone's going to say "Get a Loud MacLoed" (sorry if i spelt that wrong). Which i probably will someday.
I'm hoping though for christmas that I will be able to spoil myself and by a 8 yard tank. I'm currently working on a design for a Sonoran Scotsmen plaid, and if I get that done, and money is available, i'll be doing that.
Anyways I've babbled long enough... Cheers everyone and have a good weekend!

Any sneak peaks at ideas for the SS plaid?
And I like my SWK Thrifty, but don't expect too much of it... remember that it's their bottom-of-the-line model.

We all started somewhere! The SWK Thrifty has it's uses; and when combined with the proper sporran, hose, belt, AND attitude, it can look and feel pretty good!
Would you like to spill beer on a low cost SWK Thrifty or one of Barb's beautiful high cost creations?
Case rested.

Here's my first rough draft of what i want in the Sonoran Scotsmen Plaid. I may thin out some lines and make a few areas bolder, but I haven't had time to play with in about a week. We'll see. Let me know what you think though.

Your SWK will show up (literally) before you expect it! Jerry's got some hyper-lightspeed delivery method, that seems to have everyone scratching their heads.
Granted, I'm a newbie, but I'm satisfied with my SWK Economy kilt... especially for the price. No, it doesn't compare with hand tailored kilts, but for lightweight & casual, it's fine.

Aye, There are times when I wish for a closet of handmade wool kilts in proper tartans. Heading out the door to toss around boxes of sattelite dishes and bags of concrete is not one of those times.
SWK lets me wear nice plaids for work. And around the yard, the mall, and a bunch of other places you would not want to risk your high dollar tank.

I'd rather not spill beer at all.
