    New Glasgow University tartan tank

Before returning home from Glasgow earlier today we called in at Glasgow University visitor centre to collect my new kilt in University of Glasgow tartan, which had arrived there from the university's kiltmakers, A.L.D. of Clydebank.

As fast as I could remove the basting stitches I had donned the new kilt and headed outside for a few photos.

The Pleats. This is a full 8 yard kilt, 16 oz kilt

In front of the University Chapel.

In Professor's Square, back at the car and ready to head for home. My car is off the road awaiting a new prop shaft and I am currently driving this courtesy car belonging to a local garage - note the name on the bonnet David D !!

That looks excellent Alex, and I must say the scenery is fitting, there really is nothing like an 8yard 16oz kilt. You wear it well, congratulations. I know this one means quite a bit to you.

    Fantastic, Alex.
I'd only ever seen the Glasgow uni tartan in ladies dance sashes before. They didn't do it justice.
    You look wonderful.

Alex, that is one of the best looking blue tartans I've seen!
    Congratulations on another outstanding kilt.
We only saw a little of Glasgow, but it looks like a beautiful City. Our guide said it had more parks per square mile than almost any other major City.

Looks great Alex and you look very happy in it!

Wish St Andrews had a tartan but haven't managed to find one yet! (
