Anyone going to the Capital District Games this weekend (Labor Day weekend)? Altamont Fair Grounds south of Schenectady.

It's a great games. If any of you are going, I'd love to meet you - I'll be with the Mohawk Valley Frasers Grade 4 (Modern MacGillivray tartan - red tartan, black vests, white shirts).

    Cheers!

I'm one of those odd federal employees who works weekends and holidays, so I won't be there, but the band I'm learning from - the Buffalo Caledonian Pipes and Drums - are supposed to be there.

My wife and I are definitely going to attend on Saturday. We may go on Sunday too if we have enough fun on Saturday. When will you be competing? I don't want to miss it.

Yup - Grade 4 band competition, Mohawk Valley Frasers. I think our draw is fairly early in the afternoon (Saturday) - we've been given an exemption from playing in the first massed bands so that we have time to warm up and tune before we compete.

    Hope to meet you!

By the way, tickets at the gate are $18.00 for Saturday $12.00 for Sunday but you can purchase tickets before the games for $12.00 Saturday, $8.00 Sunday at Price Chopper supermarkets. That's a decent savings.

It would be great to meet you, Barb. I'm really looking forward to hearing the Mohawk Valley Frasers play. I thought I saw them last weekend at the Cortland Scottish festival but I arrived in the afternoon and the band playing seemed really small. I'll be wearing my rose modern hunting kilt.

All three of our competition sections will be playing - be sure you at least hear our Grade 3. They are _really_ good. They challenged up at the Hunter Mountain Pipe Band Championship a couple weeks ago and won the Grade 2 competition.

    Hope to see you!
