Kilted "PC conversion"
Hi folks,
I have almost completed my tuxedo tails to a Prince Charlie. The buttons, epuletts, and (whatever the patches under the sleeve buttons are called), are the last additions. The back is not shown yet, I only just got my first pictures. My daughter wanted to see my jacket so I quickly put on the kilt, shirt, bow tie, and glengarry. I forgot my sporran though.
My daughter is home from college this weekend and we are celebrating my 50th birthday. I can't believe that I am a half century old... I still feel like a kid. I plan to go to the fourth largest Irish festival in the US. It is held in Kansas City.
Cheers!

Yes, it was an Oscar de LaRenta tux. It was really well made and I am glad I got it for a song... $10 for a 44 extra long.

That's a great find! Check out three feathers for some nice pewter buttons to replace the cloth covered ones. They are a nice alternative to the shiny nickel if you want a more subdued look but still formal.

Looks great! I am working on one also and will post pics when done. Where did you get the vest? Is it the uniformalwearhouse vest? I have had a hard time finding a low cut three button vest.

It took a long time to find the vest. I keep searching ebay and finally found a satin one. Came with a bowtie too, in fact three bowties for another $10. It is satin, and has an open back but I can use it as a pattern if I get around to making a vest out of the scraps from the tux tails that I cut off.
