    Formal Sporran Chains

Ever see those fancy sporran chains and decide you want one for formal events but don't want to shell out a fortune?
I saw this one in a local kilt shop for 50 pounds: (JUST FOR THE CHAIN!)

I saw this on Ebay for 3 pounds:

And I already have a spare one of these:

The plan is to merge the two and see if I can make my own fancy sporran chain for a nice, low price.

I'll post pictures when I'm done.

That is a great idea Arlen, I was thinking about buying a dress chain, however the prices are a bit overwhelming for just a chain. Can't wait to see what you come up with.

I may just go to a pet store and check out the dog collars.

“Dollar” and “Five Dollar” Stores and Thrift stores often have jewelry/chains that might be adaptable.

As a bit of an update, the ladies chain belt I got on ebay looks to be working out great.
    I also jokingly considered this:

And I am also considering these:

I think the square shape in these ones may look better.

As it is, all of the belts together cost less than 10 pounds and I am sure I will get at least one very nice, formal sporran chain from them all.

Add a little bling* in the form of an anchor chain

    In gold.

    In silver.

    *Not my description BTW.

those Scottie dogs are sorta cute. I'm not sure if they're very formal or not...but they might look kinda cool on a younger person's outfit.

I'd stay away from anything with sharp corners or edges.

I have one with skulls that I used before I got my strap. I don't think it would fly as formal though.
