    A scare!

I looked at my X-Marks profile, and suddenly got a terrible sacre! It said I had 1 referral...my mind started to race immediately, "Oh! no! I got reported for something bad?! What did I say? What did I do? Am I in trouble?" YIKES! I was scared for a minute there...until I found out what "referral" means here...my friend Scotia N Eire is my "refer-ee", and I'm Scotia's "refer-er"! Whew!
I guess I've spent too many years in school!
AND...can you tell I was always the "good kid"?!

I had the same reaction when I had my 1st referral Now I pass out personal contact cards to folks interested in kilts that have my XMarks info on them in hope of getting more members & referrals

Speaking of being "referred"...I remember being referred to Sr. John Helene who had a paddle as well as a ruler!!!...but then again that was 46 years ago...and it only took me once.

    Always liked those St. Joes

Wow! I have never noticed that before. Seeing your post, I immediately had a look at my own profile and see that I have SIX referrals! Actually, I am still not sure what it means. Can someone please explain it in plain English?

If I may a referral is when a new member joins they have an option of indicating which existing member referred them to XMarks. In your case, Ham, 6 people indicated that it was the you that introduced them to this forum.

I see great irony in a nun getting nervous over a referral when it was the exact opposite when I was in school. I was always nervous about being referred to a nun

Hey, I had the same reaction when I saw that I had a referral. I even Pm'd Mike to ask, "What did I do?" Mike didn't say exactly that I got a referral because I got someone to join the forum, but he did say, "A referral is a good thing"
