Kilts on Stage at the Ozzy Osbourne Concert
Ozzy hosts an early Halloween party
By Patrick MacDonald
Seattle Times music critic
Halloween came early for the packed-to-the-rafters crowd at Ozzy Osbourne's show last night at KeyArena. Many came to the crazy, wild and bone-rattlingly loud party in pasty ghoulish makeup, witchy-woman weeds, skeletal masks, black T-shirts or hoodies with skull and crossbones, and other scary get-ups.

He played Sabbath songs, several cuts from his outstanding new album, "Black Rain," and classics from his solo career. Every song was highlighted by the speedy, intricate, muscular guitar work of Zakk Wylde, who roamed the stage in clodhopper boots, leather kilt and motorcycle jacket, his enormous thatch of blond hair and long, ponytailed beard flying as he bobbed his head to the beat.
The crowd loved Wylde almost as much as Ozzy, especially when he fell, or collapsed from exhaustion, and just kept playing on the floor, as two roadies (in matching leather kilts) hovered over him looking concerned. When he leaped up, the place went nuts.

I went looking for a photo, and came across this interview (he drops the F bomb alot):
Tom: What inspired you to wear a kilt?
Zakk: We were in Seattle at the time and I’d seen this store that’s called Utilikilts, and all they sell is kilts. So, we were joking about it and I walked in there and go, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” Like the whole store, that’s all they sell is kilts. I couldn’t believe it. If you ask me to make a business investment and go, “Hey, Zakk, I’m going to give you a quarter million dollars and we’ll start a store,” and I go, “What is it? Are we opening a pit bar or what the hell do you want to open up?” And you go, “No, we’re going to sell kilts,” I'd go, “Are you out of your mind?” When we walked in there, they had nothin’ but kilts. People are walking around with sneakers on and like that, I couldn’t believe it. So, I said, “I’ve got to make a purchase. I’m going to get one for Hendrix.” He’s 5 years old and I let him go to school in his kilt. I bought them for, like, everybody in the band. It’s some funny-*** . When Ozzy saw me wearing it, he just goes, “You are kidding, right?” I go, “Oh, no. This is the new look.”
Tom: What about your 14 year old? You going to let him go to school with one?
Zakk: Yeah. Why not? I’ve just got to make sure he’s not wearing any underwear under there.
Tom: Oh, boy.
Zakk: Feel the breeze.
Best regards.

Interesting American mindset.
A father is going to physically check to see if a 14 year old son is wearing underwear or not. Zack or not, that's really weird.
In most other parts of the world, a 14 year old is considered adult.

well at 18 your a "quasi-adult" in America and then finally at 21 your a "complete adult". Ok sorry everybody, I'll get off the and on topic.
Hey, great pics Big Paul! There is one advantage to the Utilikilt take on the kilt is the sporan won't keep hitting the guitar!
