Kilt hose
Okay folks here's a good question
I took the 1st step to being kilted. I bought a Lamont Weathered Heavyweight from SWK and am in line for the Dark Green Heavyweight when they get more stock. I really only want to get a couple sets of hose. What would go best with the Lamont Weathered? I'm thinking bottle green and lovat green. I am pretty sure that those two will go very well with the dark green. What say you?
Thanx in advance for your input.

Those are good choices, also you could look into getting Oatmeal coloured hose as these seem to go with quite a few tartans.

I really like black hose, because they work almost as consistently as cream hose, but are less typical, and don't look nearly as formal.

I agree. But I have just ordered a pair of bottle green hose, I'm a real risk taker.

I have only seen the SWK Weathered Lamont once in person (on Iolaus), and that was about two years ago. So I can't comment about lovat blue hose with that tartan (though I love lovat blue hose and have two sets of them). I really like bottle green hose with the SWK Green Heavyweight. I go for broke and wear them with the Stillwater solid green flashes to boot. Here is a picture of me wearing this combo with my Empire Canvas Works Heritage shirt:
Hope a picture helps.

I have a pair of lovat green, and they go well with EVERYTHING! I love them! They go great with my weathered MacKenzie, my black Stewart, my Nightstalker, and my plain black kilt. I love the green ones. Go with the lovat. I had a pair of bottle green and I have a pair of lovat blue, and neither one suits my kilts nearly as well. And by the way- you'll love SWK's heavyweights. My Nightstalker is a heavyweight. My Mac and Stewart are standards (for summer wear since wool is a little much in 90 degree festival days) and my black kilt is an Amerikilt denim. I only mention that to maybe help you visualize the socks with the kilts a little better. Good luck with your choice! You'll look killer either way!
And like Jamie said, perhaps a pic will help.

The beauty of tartan is there are always several, well usually several colors to choose from. For the Lamont, have you ever thought of khaki or tan, or forest green?

Black is good, greens are good, so are tans and oatmeal goes with everything.

I agree that the greens will look nice. I personally prefer bottle green, but that's just me. But why stick with just one color? You can always look for diced hose...
