Austin Celtic Festival: Day 2
We decided to go on our own on the second day of the ACF and we had the opportunity to listen to some good music, see a few more kilts, and meet some folks. Enjoy!
I wanted to get a few more shots of the Romans. We just really enjoyed their battle gear.

Just caught the Romans marching through to battle the Viking hordes.

A quick shot of Ladybird Lake. Named after the recently deceased wife of President Lyndon Baines Johnson.

A quick shot of us.

I had to get a photo of the Xmarks pin.

Some photos of the kilted.

I saw Chris from St. Patrick's day again. I had to relive the photo. I was going to post a link but I had to dump all of my photobucket photos not too long ago and start over. Ill see if I can repost some of them.

Here is a kilted outfit I've never seen before.

More Utilikilts.

A fine Gordan tartan.

They were selling like hotcakes.

Dogs of all sizes.

There was also some top notch music. We tried to see everyone but these are a few of our favorites.
We first got to see the legendary Joe Burke.

We then enjoyed the Tea Merchants.

We also got to catch a little Gregory Grene and his band.

We finished with Needfire. They really rocked. Here is the band taking it easy before the gig and the song I they are playing is called 9 minutes of Wow. We only recorded the last 2...lol.

Oh, I don't think so. It's not a kilt.
But if you're going to do something with a dishrag, well...

I like the aggressive boots on the Harley guy. Looks like the chain maille guy is helping Austin live up to its motto. And, oh, the poor Westie.
Once again, great pics. Thanks for sharing them.
Regards,
Rex.

Austin has a motto? What is it? How is that motto communicated by a man in a metal shirt and a home-made miniskirt?
If Austin's motto is in Latin, then it's the Romans who definitely help the city live up to it.

The motto is Keep Austin Weird. Not all of us are that fond of it.
