    Carrying the Colors Kilted

Okay, so in our little town the Veteran's Day celebration and parade began at about the 11 & 1/2 hour of the 12th day of the 11th month...but we got the Parade up and rolling.

I just show up and they give me something to do. This year it was to carry the USMC Colors.

So, in our little town this year the USMC colors were carried by a guy in a Leatherneck tartan kilt with a Ka-Bar sgian dubh. We also got to write up what we were there for for the parade announcer so was able to let the crowd know, via the announcer, that my jacket was in honor of my late little brother's service as a USMC Drill Instructor/Cold Warrior and that the tartan of the kilt was USMC Leatherneck.

Okay, this is my first attempt with photobucket, copied the image thingie...no clue if the pic will work.

Looks like the picture worked Ron, glad you were able to give them a little bit of information on your outfit and it's significance.

I love the outfit, you look good. I really like the USMC leatherneck kilt, I was just looking at one at the SWK site today.

    Thanks Marcel,

Its a beautiful tartan for sure and I often wear it for routine occasions, just because it is a sharp looking tartan.

The pics are of a 13 ounce wool from Strathmore Mills hand sewn. May not be quite the same as the SWK version. Whatever fits your budget.

I chose to go top of the line with this tartan because of its meaning to myself and my family.
