I can't wait (on the loss of weight) for my kilt

    Well,
As of this past Monday I owned two Stillwater Economy kilts. One is a size 44 and the other a size 42. Both fit great. I have been unsuccessfully 'trying' to lose 70 pounds (currently at 240-wanting 170). I desire to purchase some very nice leather and wool kilts for some very nice money, however, I do not want to have them at my current size. With that said I purchased a lower cost 'carrot' to 'put in front of the horse' for myself. I purchased a size 40 Stillwater Heavyweight kilt in the Black Watch tartan. The fabric is wonderful and I love the weight of the wool kilt.

With all of that said this new kilt is a bit tighter than I can wear and I want to wear it ooooooooohhhhhhhhh sooooooooooo baaaaaaad along with the very heavy wool sweater that I just purchased. So I only option to fit into this kilt is to lose the weight. (OH NO, Thanksgiving is tomorrow!!!!)

On a side note. I used to never care much about what I wore. Now that I like to wear kilts I am turning into a 'kilt horse'.

Do yourself a favor - consider joining Weight Watchers it works. My wife and I each lost 60 pounds back in 1999 and we've kept it off since. Whatever you do, enjoy wearing your kilt!

Yes, nothing like wearing kilts as an incentive to take pride in your appearance - both your physical shape and your choice of clothing. Best of luck with the weight loss.

    Weight Loss

Let me second the recommendation of Weight Watchers. I lost 50 pounds last year and have kept it off, because it's not a diet, it's a life style change. More to the point, yeah, lose the weight for the kilt, (great carrot,) but lose the weight for your health.......what a great gift to those you love to have you around that much longer. Best wishes for your continued success!

I'm right there with you. I've got a pair of cheap(er) kilts which can accommodate my unwanted mass, but all the others I want (especially the next 2 on the list, a USAK casual and UK workmen's) require a stable waistline.

And of course being single is also a good motivator for bringing back the six pack.

I won't tell you how to do it, I'll just say that for me, the key has always been keeping track of calories, and always making time for a daily workout. When I get insanely busy and these two simple tasks get disrupted, that's when the trouble starts.

It's all about sticking to a permanent plan. That or poverty, which has also worked for me in the past.

I'm personally starting to consider the Home Surgery Kit for myself...a good vacuum cleaner should work just as well as an expensive lyposuction surgery, right?!

I understand your frustration. While attending to family troubles I managed to find an extra 2 stone I never knew I had. Now I'm in the process of losing it. My carrot is that Steve at FK has two fabrics he is turning into kilts for me and I don't want to order them 'till i get back to my fighting weight.

Ah Sister, see? something to be said for the old Habit after all.......

    Just let out the belt.

I reckon a good dose of Stomach Flu for a year or so should set me right. But then my Kilts would fall off!
    What to do????
