Monochromatic Maroon
So out and about today experimented with all maroon. Red worked well, why not maroon too?
The jacket is from the Tonto Apache Mazatal Casion. Kilt is Freedom Kilts dress model in maroon. Stillwater kilts leather nighstalker sporran. Lewis kilt hose with traditional garter ties from Scottish Tartans Museum. Z coil shoes.
Taken on the south shore of Wahweap Bay of Lake Powell near Stateline launch ramp, just over the line into Utah. Rock in the distance is Castle Rock. The Greatest Story Ever Told was filmed there, as were at least one of the Planet of the Apes movies, and, I think, Maverick.
So, hey, monochromatic maroon kinda works.

It all works except the shoes, Ron. Need some maroon Z-coils.

Looking good Ron. The maroon contrasts well with that vivid blue sky and its reflection in the water and tones in well with the rocks in the background. Interesting pleating in that Freedom kilt - in the photo there appears to be lots of fairly narrow but shallow pleats.

When is somebody really challenge Ashton?
Well I've given him a challenge to source enough x-marks tartan to build me a 4-yard box pleat.

Claret Lewis Hose I believe. Brick ones were with the Cameron Black and Red under the thread Red.
South Carolina...I vaguely recall huge liquor store called South of the Border where I used to stock up on Mescal....many years ago....think they had Tequila or Mescal with little plastic sombreros on the caps....
