Double Whammy Jonesing
It's bad enough to jones for a new kilt you've ordered, but it's just downright cruel to receive a package from the kiltmaker only to find that the box not only doesn't contain your kilt, but a kilt made for someone else, in the very same tartan you ordered.
I was enticed to order a 4 yard 16 oz kilt from Burnett's and Struth in the BC tartan (fellow Northwesterners). Who could resist such a deal, and also have it promised before Christmas. Imagine my horror when upon opening the box and beholding such beautiful colors, then looking for the label with my name next to "custom made for...Macman"? Huh. Actually it listed his real name. I remember him mentioning his last name previously and that he had posted he ordered one of the same tartan so I PM'd him to let him know. Both Macman and Burnett's and Struth asked if it fit me, but unfortunately, it was 3 inches too small.
It seems that since the word was put out here, Burnett's and Struth have been inundated with orders from X Markers. A little confusion in the shipping department ensued. Since I knew who it belonged to, they asked if I would be willing to forward the kilt on. Of course I agreed. No sense in delaying our kilts longer than necessary.
I got a PM from Macman this afternoon and he received my kilt as well, so we are exchanging gifts before Christmas.
All I can say is - Dude, nice kilt!!

Well, that made Christmas shopping for each other easier
Will it still be in in time for Christmas?

I'm sooo sorry.....I have NO CLUE why I am laughing so hard....I really don't...but tell ya what guys....I AM!!
Don't know whether its funny that the exhaulted screws up like the rest of us....or whether its even funnier that we are getting to know each other so well we can unscrew screw ups easier with each other than by returning the goods.
But dang, its Christmas and the Ol' Coyote is afoot and making mischief for sure...but we're slingin' it right back at him!
What a hoot! Good on ya both.

That is just too funny. But, as Ron says, at least we know each other enough to untangle the mess.

I can see the attached letter;
Dear Mr. MacMan;
Please find enclosed your beautiful British Columbia tartan kilt from Burnett's & Struth. I apologize ahead of time for the condition in which you find it. Please allow me to explain. The moisture content of the kilt is due to the fact that when I opened my package, thinking that it was indeed my kilt and then discovering that beacause of an error in shipping, it was in fact your kilt. Well my tears of joy quickly turned to tears of sorrow. Something I'm sure that you do indeed understand.
Yours in heartbreak,
etc, etc, etc.
Sounds like B&S owe the both of you a little something of compensation for shipping & handling.

Yeah! Talk about comedic! And that coming from a guy sitting here watching Laurel and Hardy!

Makes no sense to get ruffled. I'm glad for their business growth, and both me and Macman will have our kilts. I saw his and he saw mine. The only way to deal with Coyote, is to laugh with him.

Well, it sounds like all will work out in the end, so there's no need for me to do a voodoo dance.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

So very sorry to hear about this, I've had a few dealings with Burnett's and Struth in the past month or so, they seem to be very good, and I am extremely happy with the kilt I got from them, I am sure they are very embarrassed by this.
