Leather Doublet
Hey everyone. I'm trying to put together a costume to go with the Great Kilt I've got. My favorite costume ensamble is the one Liam Neeson is wearing in this picture from Rob Roy:
I've seen a leather doublet around the internet before that looks similar to this one, and I thought it would look good with a kilt. Here's a piccy.
However, now that I have a source of income, I can't for the life of me find anyone on the internet that sells this doublet. It's the only style of doublet that appeals to me. (Even the so called "Scots Doublet" is not my taste.) Has anyone seen this doublet before, and do you know where I can find it for sale? Or one incredibly similar? Thanks.

Couldn't see anything like what you have pictured but this company has a fairly good rep. They may be able to custom make as well.

Museum Replicas , http://www.museumreplicas.com/museumreplicas/ used to sell the item pictured , but it's not on their website any more. they may have closed them out. the item number in their last print cataloge was 100462. you might try calling them.
Failing that, I'll second Ravenswood Leather they can make you anything you want, and the quality is great.

You might give Pendragon a try: www.pendragoncostumes.com
That's a lot of grommets!

Just like a kilt, don't expect anything of quality (or good-looking!) for cheap.

Okay, fourth time's the charm, let's see if my post makes it this time. Here's a link to a site selling the double you wanted, and for only $117.

Hope this helps! And hope my post makes it this time!

Gah! I had a big huge post I was writing, and I accidently hit the back page. Confound it!
Ronusan, I got your message, thanks. And yeah, this is the one I'm looking for, only I'm trying to find it in brown. If not though, I'll more than likely go with this one.

I've tried on a green pendragon version and it is very very nice. Also the pendragon sleeves are removable when warmer weather is here. And with all that leather it does get a bit warm.
