A Tweed Kilt and Jacket
Hello all!
Well, I've drawn a blank-comes with age I guess. A while back, one of the
kilt makers-I think in Canada, were advertising a tweed kilt with matching jacket.
Does anyone remember the kilt maker?
Thanks!

That wouldn't be USA Kilts, would it?

I believe you're thinking of our very own The Wizard of BC (founder & owner of Freedom Kilts) up in Victoria, B.C., Canada.
Check out this thread to admire his tweed handiwork

Kilt Suits
Thanks to all, especially Hendry.
You are correct. Once I visited the website, 'The Lightbulb Came On!' :-)
I think Freedom Kilts will have a good product as well. I wonder if he will
make the jacket out of the same tweed as the kilt, as-in 'Kilt Suit'?
Now, That's the way to go to 'the office'!
( If I still had an office to go to--I'm retired! )

BTW-I do miss the 'smilies' to add into a post.

The Donegal Tweed my jackets are made from would make a wonderful kilt. I just haven't done one yet 'cause I'm not a fan of the kilt suit look. It would be neat to try though.

Oh, you have so many options! It's good to remember that just about any kiltmaker or retailer can offer you a tweed kilt suit, even if they don't specifically advertise it.
Here's one I enjoy wearing in Harris Tweed:
If you are interested specifically in Harris tweed, see my site here:
http://kilts.albanach.org/tweeds.html
(My Harris Tweed weaver is supposed to be sending me swatches of some new patterns she has produced this year, so I'll be uploading those to the site as soon as I get them).
Lochcarron has a range of Ettrick tweed and you can purchase kilt, suit, and/or vest from the Scottish Tartans Museum:
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/tweed.html
The museum also offers kilts, jackets, and vests from House of Edgar's "Glen Tilt" range, which though worsted wool (not tweed), is inspired by the patterns from Scottish estate tweeds, and so has that same "look."
http://giftshop.scottishtartans.org/glen_tilt.htm
And, of course, people have already mentioned Rocky's tweed kilt suits, which I think are very nice looking, and Steve at Freedom Kilts has chimed in.
If you have a favorite kilt maker where you are, I'd ask them what they might be able to provide, as well.
One thing I really like about the tweed kilt suit I have is the versitility. In addition to wearing the kilt/jacket/vest together as a "suit" I have also gotten quite a bit of wear out of each of them separately.
Go for it, you'll love it!

I'll Echo Matt's comments... I wear my Charcoal grey (one pictured on our site) jacket and vest with several different kilts.
I ALSO wear my Solid Charcoal tweed kilt with my striped Rugby shirts. That's a very smart look as well!
