Wood cantle?
I've been thinking about this when I stumbled upon this.
I was thinking of a different finish or wood but this looks like a DIY dream.
Thoughts?

As a woodcarver, i have to say that when I saw that the wheels began to turn and all sorts of possibilities came to mind.
I will let you all know if something perculates to the top and manifests its self.

I really don't like it. I do see the potential for someone with vision and talent to create a much better final product.

I agree completely. AND, I feel the idea of a wooden cantle would work much better with a leather sporran than a fur.

Well i've been looking to make myself another sporran. I am definitely going to try this out. I just so happen to have several rather large pieces of furr, and a supply of wood!
