Charlotte, NC Kilt Night, seeing who's interested
I'm trying to see what interest (if any) in a kilt night in the Charlotte, NC area.
All that want to get together please respond, and if there is more than myself, we'll set a date and time.

sharpdressedscot, I have not got that far into the planning, just wanted to see if anyone else wanted to meet up.
I am open to suggestions, we can make this a committee style decision. I live in Rock Hill, so something in center or south Charlotte would work better for me, and a bar or a restaurant will work equally well.
Maybe Ri Ra's?

OK, so the tally so far is:
Myself
sharpdressedscot
Macmoose and maybe a few of his buds.
Let's get some more Kilted Carolinians and have a real kilt night!

I might be able to make it...depends on the date. Friday nights work best for me.

Friday nights work well for me also, so do Saturdays.
So, if everyone can chime in on the night of the week that works best, I'm thinking of Friday, since I work just north of Charlotte.
Are there any objections to having it at Ri Ra's?

Just checked their web site. I hate navigating in downtown Charlotte, but this place looks like a good excuse to go there.

Is there an age limit, it's a bar... I'm not quite 21...

I am a regular patron of Ri Ras, and know the staff well, I will check into the age limit question. I do know that Friday nights are very busy there, and there is a DJ on Friday nights, so there will be a cover charge. The place will be packed, and pretty smokey. Saturday nights is live music night, so again, a cover charge and a full house.
An option might be Sunday night. There is a Celtic jam, no admission, and no age limit. I go often, the music is excellent, lots of fun, and nowhere near as crowded.
Other places to consider...
- The Galway Hooker in Lake Norman.
- Sir Edmund Halley's, Park Rd./Woodlawn area.
- The Flying Saucer, University area. (though there might be an age issue there as well)
