    Bright Skye

    I notice that The Frugal Corner is no longer calling their plaid Isle of Skye, but rather Bright Skye. From what I've seen, that's a better name.

    See the older subject thread. I think that I re-named it first.

    There was some mean spirited mud throwing in that first thread. Please not again?

    Turns out that my daughter likes it so much that I bought her one of her own.

    The picture on the FC site is one that I took. The reflectivity of the material is such that it is virtually unphotographable.
    But judging from some of the pics on this forum I would say that the real IoS can be somewhat difficult to photograph also.

    Below is a scan and a much better representation of how the FC tartan really looks.
    It is indeed “bright” compared to the subtle and well-blended shades of the true IoS.

    I think that's a brilliant way for FG kilts to skirt the naming issue for that tartan!

    Well I ordered one. Custom, cause I need it shortened a bit. I'm happy it is bright. It will look fabulous glittering and reflecting in the water on a sunny day when I am racing in the dragon boats.

    Good for you! My nephew and I have a Hunting Mackintosh kilts from Frugal, and they are a little brighter than I'm used to, but I like it that way. His was custom as well, and it fits really well. I think you'll be happy with it.

    Bright arrival

    So...my new Bright Skye 13 oz acrylic arrived by post today. And yes it is bright but it is also truly beautiful. My roomies all said WOW! when they saw it. It is my first non-wool (I have a 11 oz 5 yrd Hunting Mackinnon and and 16 oz 8 yrd Ancient red Mackinnon), and so I find it a bit light on my hips, but I am sure I will get used to it. I bought it to race dragon boats in and as practice is tonight, it will have its baptism in False Creek water during our Gung Haggis Fat Choy practice. Thanks to the Frugal Corner for delivering what they promised and on time too. Pictures to follow...

    I'd love more photos guys !
    Isle of Sky still and perhaps will always remain a mystery for me.
    It would also be awfully nice to mention if it's PV, 11 oz. and so on .
    Thanks;
