Double trouble
I ordered two new kilts from stillwater on Wednesday night, and they were here this (Friday) morning. Once again, Jerry has proven that faster than light travel is possible.
Since tonight was the first night of my IV winter conference, I wore the black stewart thrifty, along with my SK battle axe pin. I got a lot of "nice kilt"s and only one negative response, which was expected since it came from a kilt hater. Personally I found it to be a bit loud for my tastes, but I knew that would be the case coming into it, and once I got used to it, I was fine.
The high point was when some girls from another college mentioned that there is a kilty at their school (who happens to be a fellow xmarksman) and that they like my kilt more than his.
THe other kilt I got is a black economy model. I will wear it tomorrow, and expect the response to be even better. The only other person who has seen is generally not a fan of kilts, but told me it looked really nice. I think it's all in the buckles. I certainly love it, and will have to consider more economy's for cheap filler (not that I can afford to keep doing this). My only complaint is that they only come in even sizes, meaning I had to choose between a little tight or a little loose. Since I'm shrinking slowly anyway, I went tight, but it is slightly annoying.
As with my first swk, I was overwhelmed by the acrylic smell when I opened the box, and had to febreeze the things to make them wearable. And it seems like these two are lighter than my first one, though that may just be due to wear and tear.
Overall I am extremely pleased. With these, I now have enough kilts in rotation to border on full time.
Oh, and sorry, no pictures. I have no camera. And besides, there are pics on the site.

And where, pray tell, is the site?
I'm glad you mostly got good responses. Sounds like you looked pretty dapper.

You mean, there are people who actually hate kilts? I'm a psychologist and often get curious about such attitudes, but I really wonder what could make a person hate an article of clothing.

I hate spandex, so I guess it's entirely possible, though illogical, to hate the kilt!
My dad's got one of the economy SWK's, and he likes it a lot. A good buy!

Fair enough. Though I never saw the kilt make anyone look worse, even though tha usually happens with spandex.

But not David Lee Roth! He can wear anything and still be cool!
Hmm, I wonder what he would have looked like in a kilt...

I've got a couple of SWK heavyweight wool kilts and I love them. Just yesterday, I ordered an SWK economy model in the Irish National Tartan for St. Patrick's day (for $30 it doesn't matter if someone spills beer on it). My only surprise is that Jerry hasn't figured out a way to get me the new kilt before I ordered it. (I'm expecting it to be delivered tomorrow)
