    New York Times article

Does his information sound accurate? Not exactly sure what his point is either, unless it's an ongoing thread?

I certainly hope it's an ongoing series... he didn't even get to the part where he got his kilt!

Well, considering the fact that the article was first published in June 1986 I'd think he's finished off the story at some point.

I'm not really sure what he's on about wither, but it seems to be in a travel section, so maybe that's all there was to it.

Nine yds at less than $300...Hmmm. I had to go back to find out that it was written in 1986. Clan tartans started roughly in the early 19th C.

It seems to me a vacuous, superficial humor article, intended primarily as a filler. I don't see how it could harm anyone who refrained from taking it seriously.

When I saw the date, I thought they were referring to the publish date of the book. Wonder why NYT is printing/reprinting twenty some years after the fact?

The NYTimes now makes its online archives available to the public.
