Kilt up for New Video Game

I was watching the tube last night and a spot came up for the newest incarnation of The Simms franchise. And lo and behold, there on the simulated dance floor a buncha guys in kilts! I might have to get it just for that. Of course, the build your own character feature on Tiger Woods 06 is allowing me to play golf in a kilt. And I play as badly there as in real life.

My fiance plays Sims 2 and she says the kilt is one of the default outfits (although she doesn't remember if it came in the base game or if it was added in one of the expansions). She's hoping Sims 3 will continue the trend.

The sims has Kilts. The sims recently sold it's 100,000,000th copy. Coincidence?

    Yes, but still cool.

However, the bard's tale has more kilts than any other game I am aware of, as well as a healthy dose of celtic culture, orkney myths, and brilliant comedy. And you get to fight a giant haggis monster. How awesome is that?

Several years ago I played the "Sims Online" for a brief bit. My character's default duds were a tartan kilt (red based, probably royal stewart) and PC. Pretty neat.

Long ago when men cursed and beat the ground with sticks, it was called witchcraft. Today it is known as golf ;)

But I highly enjoy the Sims games, I'll have to look into this.

I used to play the sims with regularity. Now, not so much. I guess I grew out of it.

As for golf, it appears to me to be just a good way spoil a good walk.

My dad used to describe golf as "a good walk interupted by moments of intense frustration".

Re the Simm, never got into that one, but the Bards Tale looks like something I might want to try.

EEK sims now has kilts. hmm... well Im gonna go play some Team Fortress 2 IN a kilt...

hehe. I am not much a fan of games as mindless as the sims, but who am I to argue, the first person shooters that I enjoy are quite mindless.

let me just say for the record, be careful with your computer game habits, once you get started, its like kilts, you say, "hey, that game looks fun." Bam then all you know is you owe www.newegg.com $800 and you have to build a system thats already outdated just to be able to play your new game. and because its outdated it won't run the game as well, and you need more ram, and another graphics card to run them SLI. and now you need more hard drive space. and on and on.

AHHHHH. and that concludes my rant for the day.
I am a very multi-interested poor person... all my hobbies are expensive Kilts, Computers, Film, Music, Blacksmithing. all those tend to add up!

Now, back on topic, hey, if kilts are a default thing on sims, (a game marketed towards suburban Americans with only marginally powerful computer) then EVERYONE should be able to accept a kilt as a piece of clothing.

hope its as sucessfull as the last 2 or 3 that they have made. but still I tell you NOTHING will ever beat the originals like SIMTOWER or SIMCITY2000 both of which I still own on floppy ;)
