New kilt-friendly tea shop in Prescott, AZ
A tea shop recently opened up just down from Brian's Irish pub in downtown Prescott, AZ. It's run by a Scottish lady and her husband. They sell loose teas and tea bags, cups and pots. Plus they serve wines, teas, and beers. The first Saturday night of each month, from 5 to 9 is kilt night. If you wear a kilt in, you get a free wine tasting, plus they have specials on Scottish beers. We stopped by this evening (me kilted, of course), and caused quite a commotion. I picked up some fabulous Lapsang Souchong to take home.
If you're kilting around the Prescott area, stop in and say hi to them. We need more businesses like this around here.

They have a huge selection of green teas. The guy says it's his specialty. He teaches classes in Japanese tea ceremony.

Oooh! Sounds like my kinda place! What a shame it's so far away, though. Ah well, maybe if I'm ever in the area someday

Thanks for that info. Once and a while get down there.
It does also seem to validate the claim by Junior Bonner fans that Prescott is now truely a part of California....

I bet they don't serve green tea at the Palace.

Lapsang Souchong, one of my favorites. Sounds like a fun place to spend some time. We have a nice small wine shop that does tastings. The recently had their license from the city upgraded so that they can sell by the bottle or the glass for wines and beer. They have a good selection of imported beers from around the world, no miller or bud-lite here. The also have a pretty decent selection of scotch. My wife and I head in there after work one evening a week to meet with the normal monday evening crowd and catch up on good conversation.
