    Khaki Military Style look

My Mom made a great thrift store find, a brand new LL Bean "safari" shirt. She gave it to me and I tried to come up with a military inspired outfit.

    How did I do?

    Cheers

Very nice Jamie, I think you have succeeded. I have a greenish tan swiss army shirt that I wear with my Gordon kilt, brown sporran and belt and boots, I think it looks very military also. Really like the black watch kilt.

My only qualm and it is a small one, but I think it deserves a mention, is that the sporran with the fur does not match, it would to my eye look far more military if in fact you were sporting a plain brown leather sporran.

Having said all that I really like the outfit and think it looks sharp.

    Glen,

I agree. A plain brown would have been best. My other sporran choices were my brown and black Freelander (wrong style) or my carved A_Hay! Pictish Boar (too elaborate).

    Cheers

Given the choices you made the right decision, as I said a very nice outfit nonetheless.

Sounds like someone needs a new sporran.

Very sharp, but I can't help thinking that those hose and flashes look very Boy Scout. Sorry - too many years of getting that combo ready for camp! LOL

I do love the headgear, shirt and kilt, though.

Chortle! Actually those stockings had a bit more olive in them. I still have 3 pairs, which I wear with Black Watch, MacGregor red, tan X-kilt, etc.

Present day Scout stockings seem to be olive/khaki with a red cuff.
